Enforce the Living Wage for hotel workers in London
Rejected

What the petition asks
It is a national scandal that London, in terms of hotel workers, is now one of the most ‘unethical’ tourist destinations in the world. Our hotel workers deserve safe, secure working environments and the full £10.20 per hour London Living Wage.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The London Living Wage is calculated independently and paid voluntarily by employers, so this isn't something that the Government or Parliament could do.
In contrast, the National Living Wage is a legal minimum that all employers have to pay to employees over 25 years of age. There is one rate (£7.50 per hour, set to rise to £7.83 in April 2018) for the whole country.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition asking the Government to increase the National Living Wage for people who work in London.
