Change or de-restrict motorway speed limits.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

I do a lot of driving and spend many hours sat on motorways. Sometimes 300miles a day. 80-90mph would suffice, or even have certain stretches de-restricted completely. The M20, M25, M4, M6 are a few for example.
These motorways have large stretches where everybody is doing 70mph, problems arise when faster people start weaving in and out to get past. If the commonly referred to "fast lane" was indeed made the "fast lane" then traffic would flow better as people wouldn't be weaving in and out causing others to brake harshly, let alone when people crash because of this, if the limit was raised in all lanes or Removed completely in places I believe less weaving, less traffic, less accidents.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You may wish to sign this petition instead:

Increase the speed limit on motorways from 70mph to 80mph by 2022.

Otherwise, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
