What the petition asks
Murderers, rapists, abusers and criminals are walking free on our streets serving short sentences or given suspended sentences. Our justice system does not reflect the crime that has been committed, there is NO deterrent, there is NO punishment. If you take a life you should serve life.
Two boys murdered an child.Premeditated and calculated-they served only 8 years. They were ‘rehabilitated’. Boy A reoffend and is back in prison for sexual crimes against children, this is one of many examples. The system does not work. If you take a life you should serve life in prison. The justice system needs to stand up against these type of people and show that we stand together and we have zero tolerance for this type of behaviour. It is not ok. It is not right. It is not fair.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what changes you'd like to see to the justice system.
