Allow the image of a building/landscape to be used by the creator.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Businesses in Leics. are being charged/ sued for using an image/representation of a building in a park which was given to the people of Leics.
The Charity trustees of the park want to charge £250 pa for images.
If a person takes a photo of a building or if they create an drawing, they ought to be able to use their own image (except for secure buildings reasons).
Bradgate Park was given to Leics. people over 100 yrs ago and "Old John" is a popular place where people take many photos.
Intellectual property rights/copyright should not apply to these places.
That's like saying you can't use an image of a triangle because someone owns the property rights to the triangle.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking for a specific change to the law, if that's what you want to happen.
