Privatise the policing of mobile phone use while driving

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

It’s illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving but there’s insufficient resources to police this law. Every day you can see drivers of all vehicle types using their mobile phones and this includes so called ‘professional drivers’.
If this was privatised to pass power to private companies to bring prosecutions it would quickly have a marked affect. There have been some high profile cases where deaths have occurred but it still doesn’t get taken seriously.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
