What the petition asks
The Treasury vowed to axe the outdated tax on all sanitary products in January 2016. Currently, the Tampon Tax is set to be abolished by 2022 at the earliest. Help to put an end to the marginalisation of issues of women by demanding a zero tax rate for sanitary products.
Women are expected to spend £900 in tax for their periods in their lifetime. Menstruation should not be labelled as a luxury.
Together, with the abolishment of the tampon tax, we can get rid of the taboo around menstruation.
