What the petition asks
1 in 10 women suffer with endometriosis in the UK. Women are losing their jobs, having financial difficulties, being treated unfairly by employers and are not protected even though this is a long term chronic illness with no cure. We need protection and help please. Repeat surgeries and treatments.
Endometriosis falls under the NHS most 20 painful conditions https://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Pain/Pages/20-painful-conditions.aspx
This illness is serious, we are having surgeries every year some of us and more than once a year. However, we've no protection in work and it is not recognised by all employers as serious and we are not fully protected by the disability act or any act.
Some women have been fired, we have no benefits available to us either if we are no longer able to work.
