What the petition asks
Most students are sold a loan between ages of 18-23; an age at which financial know how is an alien concept to most. When the loan is sold there is minimum information provided for the student to make an informed choice.
There has been a serious breach of duty of care by the Government.

Personally the first statement I received about this loan was after I finished my 4 year degree. Not a single statement sent in 4 years to make me aware that how much debt I am in, and it is not just me every student I have spoken to has confirmed the same.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure whether you'd like the UK Government to write off all student loans, or only some loans. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
