What the petition asks
While over 25% of the members of the House of Lords are women, the name erases their existence, ignores their achievements and puts a gendered restriction in the heart of our nation's Parliament.
By changing the official name to the House of Peers, along with all branding, we can fix this mistake

Today is International Women's Day 2018, sixty years since women were first allowed to sit as peers. If we could change our Parliament's name by IWD 2019 to include the 209 female peers who help make our country's laws, that would be a wonderful celebration of 60 years of women in British democracy.
