Petition · past parliament
Cut MP's pay down to the UK average wage with a £1000 cap on expenses.

What the petition asks
Do MP's deserve the wage they get? Every Tory MP voted for the cap on free school meals, while the subsidies for the bars and restaurants in parliament went up £2.8 million. This is just one example. These people do not serve us, the constituents. They serve themselves........And it's got to stop.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
