What the petition asks

Currently, all families on Universal Credit can claim free lunches, but that is set to change soon.

The new rules mean from April 1, children in Year Three and above will no longer be eligible if their parents earn more than £7,400.
Many working families are already experiencing food poverty with an estimated 1,182,954 being provided with three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis between April 2016 and March 2017, compared with 1,109,309 the previous year, a report by the charity has revealed. Of these, 436,000 went to children.
