Protect the parenting/caring from a distance role with new guidance/legislation.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

We call on government to take immediate action to safeguard vulnerable children – and protect the ‘parenting/caring from a distance’ role with new statutory guidance and legal frameworks that support us - when our children are 'beyond parental control' due to poor mental health or early life trauma
Legislation and policy change are urgently needed to protect and support families caring for vulnerable children who have poor mental health and disabilities, which may be related to early life trauma, abuse and neglect. A more humane ethical family centred approach is required now, where birth parents, adoptive parents and special guardians, can be seen as part of the solution – not part of the problem, in striving to do their best and caring for their children.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand that you're concerned about children and parenting, but we're not sure what specific action you'd like.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
