Stop nurseries charging on public holidays when they are closed

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Childcare fee are around a quarter of most families income. To unfairly charge parents when nurseries are closed should be stopped. Especially over Christmas and New year. It's an employer's responsibility to cover the cost during public holidays. Not the struggling families...
I was charged almost £50 on Christmas day to cover to cost of shutting a nursery down for Christmas day. For food that wasn't used, nappies not changed and for heating to turned on. Aswell as every bank holiday. Tax payers money is been used to cover staff wages while the business is closed. Nurseries are the only business I know that gets away with unfairly charging families when it's the business owners responsibility. Stop nurseries bullying parents into these unfair charges.
