Petition · past parliament

Abolish the House of Lords and replace it with persons elected by public vote.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

It has become increasingly clear that the Lords are no longer reviewing matters before them dispassionately but are investing that review with their personal prejudices.
An example of this is Lord Judge's comment in the debate on leaving the EU that following the public vote to leave he has stated that he is a Peer and does not have to bow to the people. This goes against all notion of democracy as we know it and shows that the Lords is no longer visit for purpose.
