Cheaper train fares for students, especially when travelling to school
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
I am 17 years old, and I have to pay £6.40 a day to just get to school. This isn’t even including the cost of getting home. Why should I have to pay such an extortionate amount of money to go someone that I have to be by law?
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The price of train tickets is the responsibility of train operating companies.
You could start a new petition asking the Government to fund a student rail discount card, if that's what you want to happen.
