What the petition asks
There are estimated 12.7 million tonnes of plastic ends up in the ocean every year. This waste releases toxins, absorbed by animals, subsequently entering the food chain. A ban on non-biodegradable plastic from the fashion industry could limit the micro-plastics that end up in the ocean.
