What the petition asks
All schools have space for growing food & with innovative techniques such as vertical gardening, even edges of a playground can become an allotment. Invest in schools so that they can REDUCE external dependency. Off-grid futures would incl. energy generation, rain-water harvesting & recycling.
The larger the space available, the larger the impact on education, health & school finances. It's also time to consider deleting meat from school meals, instead invest in growing fruit & veg.
Growing minds, building healthy futures, teaching valuable life-skills, helping children embrace the outdoors - growing food at school & learning about sustainability is fun, engaging & unforgettable, an essential subject for the National Curriculum.
