BBC Radio2 needs to reflect the interests of listeners - Fire Lewis Carnie Now!

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

With Simon Mayo’s Drive Time team broken up and a long lasting show destroyed, this is the last in a long catalogue of errors by Carnie. Enough is enough, this is OUR BBC and Lewis Carnie and the rest have a duty to serve the listeners and our needs, not dictate them. I call for him to be fired.
Carnie has been behind a number of pointless changes he manages to justify such as Chris Evans is payed some £20 million and is “worth it” on account he brings “10 million listeners” yet Wogan was paid 800k per year and brought 8 Million listeners... Evans dreams of having an ounce of Wogan’s talent yet Carnie manages to justify numerous questionable expensive appointments without any recourse. Enough is enough, time for him to go.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
