Petition · past parliament

Enforce laws on forced marriages in other countries.

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Many people in other countries become severely injured or even face death due to the cruel nature of forced marriage. Many lack a predominant government to establish basic laws to help an abundant amount of lives.
It occurs mostly in countries with a weak government/form of democracy such as Bangladesh and Pakistan. Our government should then help these in need as they don’t have enough stability.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The UK Government can't enforce the law in other countries.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask the UK Government to raise the issue of forced marriage with the governments of other countries.
