What the petition asks
Since December 2017, points required to obtain a Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship (RCOS) has more than doubled. Originally, only 21 points was required for sponsorship. Lately, the points have been set between 46-55 points.
Schools in the UK are facing the worst recruitment and retainment crisis.
Removing all teaching roles from the RCOS cap will allow foreign educators to remain in the UK, ultimately helping to ease the current issues.
Additionally, removal of the shortage occupation codes will allow businesses to more fairly compete for international talent.
