Petition · past parliament

The UK will ban trade and international sporting fixtures between UK and Israel.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The ban may be lifted by Parliament after Israel begins to comply with the UN resolutions requiring Israel leaves the occupied territories of Palestine.
Israel's treatment of the Palestinians has been unacceptable for many years. Recent events on the Gaza border must stop.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you mean by "ban trade". If you'd like specific sanctions or embargoes, you could start a new petition asking for the action you'd like to see. You can find out more here:

The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for all international sporting events. You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to urge all UK sports governing bodies to withdraw from competing against Israel, if that's what you'd like to happen.
