Introduction of National Letter Box Standards

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Our posties lack the protections they need to carry out their duties unimpeded. We are calling for the introduction of national letter box standards. Dog owners must have either a letter cage affixed to the reverse of their door, or an external post box to ensure the safety of all delivery workers.
From a political cross party perspective how many campaigners have been bitten whilst posting letters/campaign materials? I know of three from the most recent local election alone.

We the undersigned would also like to see a uniform approach taken to any new developments in the UK – ensuring that letterboxes are approximately midway and horizontal on the door, creating an easier route for postal workers, deliverers, and campaigners alike.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. The UK Parliament and Government are not responsible for the size of letter boxes.
