Petition · past parliament
A history of no rent arrears should be enough to rent a property.

What the petition asks
Currently when renting a property a credit check is carried out on prospective tenants. This means a people who have NEVER had rent arrears are being overlooked & rejected for properties over non housing related debts, that could be from years ago which is unfair & adding to the housing crisis.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Parliament and Government aren't responsible for deciding what checks to do before renting someone a property.
