Release Stephen Lennon immediately, investigate the motive behind his arrest

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Stephen Lennon aka Tommy Robinson was arrested for "breach of the peace", yet his court document state "contempt of court". His national profile and campaign against grooming gangs makes him a target in prison. How can a person be sentenced so quickly, while denying him his Article 6 rights?

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This isn't something that the UK Government or Parliament could do. Sentences are the responsibility of the courts, which are independent of the Government and Parliament.

You could start a new petition asking for a specific change in the contempt of court laws, if that’s what you’d like to happen.
