What the petition asks
In the UK we are seeing an increasing amount of large scale breeders turning out thousands of puppies. This large scale breeding produces domestic pets that cannot be effectively socialised due to the mass production of puppies, and in turn leads to a high volume of rehoming and abandonment of dogs.
Dogs are domestic pets, they are meant to live in the home as part of the family. Large scale breeders are turning man’s best friend into production stock, a dogs needs to be socialised as a pet cannot take place in such large breeding environments and therefore makes them less able to be domesticated. As a nation, we need to address this and put an end to ‘farming’ of pets, allowing only for small scale breeding where puppies needs can be met appropriately. ‘Twenty is Plenty’ campaign.
