Petition · past parliament

Abolish holiday price increases during school holidays.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Enforcing a no price increase with a average price throughout the year means any holiday provider would not loose any revenue.
School time absences will reduce as the necessity to remove children from school to find a cheaper holiday would be removed
The government abolished the 10 days holiday entitlement and introduced fines for any term time absence.

The majority of people take children out of of school, do so purely because of a cost issue.
A family holiday during any school holiday period can dramatically rise in price for the same holiday out of the school holidays.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask Parliament to change the law, to make it illegal for holiday companies to increase their prices during school holidays.
