Ban marriage for under 25s where there is an age gap of more than 10 years.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

This will go a long way to outlaw child marriages and protect young girls.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand that you’re concerned about child marriages and protecting young girls, but this would apply to people between the ages of 18 and 24, who are adults.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, if you’d like the legal minimum age for marriage to be increased, you could start a petition asking for that.
