Make game consoles not safeguarding children from unauthorised purchases illegal

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

I was alerted by email about an unauthorised purchase on my sons PS4. Within the 1hr I had changed my login details for both PS+ & PayPal. I notified Sony & EA Sports about the incident within a 2hrs. PayPal responded and refunded us our money but PlayStation have since contacted me demanding money
I have a problem with the ease in which things can be accidentally downloaded without any passcodes for children and that every level within children’s games are monetised exploiting children.

£90 is expensive, expecially after spending £50 on a game. PlayStation continue to demand the money from us & have blocked a paid for account losing all of my 7 year olds games. Another cruel way to manipulate the situation for financial gain. Online gaming systems need regulating against such practices.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about children being able to spend money on games consoles without permission, but we're not sure exactly how you'd like the law to be changed.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
