What the petition asks
This act would allow paramedics and all other emergency services to skip long waiting times, and be served as a priority in restaurants.
As paramedics are obligated to 'drop everything and run', this would reduce the possibility of workers missing out on food and drink due to long waiting times.
As paramedics are obligated to 'drop everything and run', this would reduce the possibility of workers missing out on food and drink due to long waiting times.
Especially in the current heat of the British summer, for emergency workers to be unable to purchase food or drinks on account of 'poor timing', is a ludicrous notion.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
At the moment, this would be a decision for individual businesses, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you'd like Parliament to make this a legal requirement, you could start a new petition asking for that.
