UK Government to be responsible for planning that affects historic environment
Closed

What the petition asks
Local councils do not have the necessary expertise to make planning decisions when the historic environment is at stake. The UK Government should take back responsibility for these decisions from local councils, to protect the integrity of historical and cultural sites.
The NPPF fails to protect the integrity of historical and cultural sites. Planners lack the wisdom to appreciate them. These problems are far-reaching and threaten the destruction of our historic environment as well as the squandering of tax payers’ money.
