Respond specifically to the ‘broken electoral laws’ issue on petition 223729

The government’s response to the petition “Rescind Art.50 if Vote Leave has broken Electoral Laws regarding 2016 referendum” failed to address the concern about unlawful campaigning conduct.

There is no mention of it in the response. As such, the response is irrelevant and insufficient.

The Petitions Committee, which oversees the petitioning process, will be writing to the Government to ask for a revised response. The Committee has scheduled a debate on petition 223729 for 10 September.

You could contact the Department for Exiting the European Union, which submitted the Government's response, or submit a new petition once petition 223729 has closed.
