What the petition asks
Ear piercing of a child who cannot give its own consent is child abuse. Whether it be for the parents own pleasure or for any religious reason,it is still abuse. No other form of abuse on a child is tolerated here.High street stores should not be doing this in a window for all to see.
I witnessed a baby have this done in a window of a store for all so see.many people were upset by it.the child was too small to walk or talk and was abused by the mother and the lady doing the procedure.it was merely for the parents pleasure. I emailed Claires and they gave and excuse f the country being diverse and having lots of religious practises, unsatisfactory response. Using religion as an excuse for child abuse is wrong on this day and age.its still abuse no matter what the reason.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure what you'd like the legal age at which a child can give consent to ear piercing to be.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
