End religious slaughter within the UK without the use of stunning equipment.

What the petition asks
Currently government guidelines allow animals to have their throats cut whilst conscious on a mass scale on religious grounds.
The same act is illegal if their are no religious motives. Non-religious abbattoirs would be subject to prosecution for carrying out such acts.

Government guidelines currently state the following:
“You must stun all animals before you slaughter them unless an animal is being religiously slaughtered for halal or kosher meat.”
Not only is it double standards it is barbaric and has no place in our society.
