What the petition asks
Israa Al-Ghomgham is an activist who participated in and documented the mass protests that have taken place in Qatif province in Saudi Arabia since 2011. She is currently facing the death penalty and is due to be beheaded by a public prosecutor of the KSA.
Saudi Arabia is taking the rare step of seeking the death penalty for a 29-year-old female activist accused of encouraging demonstrations for greater rights for the Shiite Muslim minority, the advocacy group Human Rights Watch said.
Beheading Ms Israa Ghomgham for conducting peaceful protest is a barbaric act that violates both British and Universal values of basic human rights. We demand that the British Government put maximum pressure on the KSA to stop this barbaric act.
