Carers Register for all carers in adult social care in England

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

A Carers Register in England is essential to protect vulnerable adults wherever they live. All carers will be registered & will need to demonstrate they have the skills to look after the people in their care. We need to re-build trust & confidence & ensure people are safe & carers are supported.
Carers working in all settings ie home care (domiciliary care), supported living & in care homes (residential, EMI & secure units) will be registered
• It is essential that if a worker is not fit to practise they can be removed from the Register & unable to practice in England.
• The Register should be maintained by the Care Quality Commission & form an integral part of the inspection process
• The registration fee must be reasonable & within the reach of all care workers.
