Make Adult Fair On Public Transport Start From The End Of Year 13 Not At Age 16
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
At age 16 you cannot work full time, vote or drive, yet often you are expected to pay an adult fair. This is unfair and should be changed. Since young people have to stay in full time education until the end of year 13, they should not be expected to pay adult fair on public transport.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because we are not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
We are not sure which public transport fares you would like changed. Many public transport fares are not set by the UK Government or Parliament. Where they are, for example regulated rail fares, they often do not have an under 16 discount.
We are also unclear what age you would like the reduced fares to apply until.
You could start a new petition setting out clearly what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
