What the petition asks

We got a poor pay rise, which gave me -£15 each month due to all the tax increases. Now they want me to pay more to work like a dog for pennies. What do the NMC actually do for Nurses, especially now we have tohave indemnity insurance and be part of a union. What do they need £83m for? Appalling

What do they do for Nurses? Where does all their money go? How many nurses are on the NMC register?
The number of nurses and midwives registered in the UK with the Nursing and Midwifery Council decreased by 1783 between March 2016 and March 2017 according to the NMCs own figures. This was a change from 692,556 registered nurses and midwives to 690,773 over that time.
So 690,773 x £120 = £82,892,760.
They've lost 1,783 nurse which is £213,960.
