Same sex unmarried/civil partnered parents to be on Childs birth certificate

What the petition asks
In the UK same sex parents of donor children are unable to both go on their childs birth certificate - unless they are married/ civil partnered preconception or the child was conceived through the help of a registered fertility clinic. My son has only me on his birth certificate and it's wrong.
Why is it ok for heterosexual couples to both be registered on birth certificate, some of these Fathers registered are not even the biological Fathers and no questions asked.
If anything were to happen to me my son would be an orphan due to no other parent having rights over him.
As a nation we have come so far with equality and rights, however the legislation and laws need to be updated to reflect this.
