To make Party political Manifestos legally binding once elected.

Closed 401 signatures

What the petition asks

Parties of all political persuasions have attempted to gain votes by making headline gestures that they can save millions, they then renege on this pledge. This petition is trying to seek full transparency on manifestos and exactly how they will be implemented by financially backing their claims.
Whether its student fees, the NHS, Police, immigration or universal credit. This debate should it happen will focus all political parties to sound out financial and political options; before making manifesto statements. This will show that the parties are 100% certain that they can implement and fully back up their claims. Additionally a penalty system would need to be proposed for those who do not carry out the manifesto pledge are duly summoned to public recourse and/or financial penalty.
