Allow young migrants (UK resident) access to University under 'new category'.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

The current UK law is still preventing hundreds of young migrants from accessing higher institution. I am one of these people and I have had to work thrice as hard to balance my studies, while excruciatingly waiting for the Home Off. to change my life for the better. For a long time they held me...
..in a limbo. I am now been able to attend University and everyday I thank God, because I cannot believe I have been lucky enough to be awarded a full scholarship.
Scholarships are fantastic, but they are limited. There are lots of people who are unable to attend higher institution. Is this what the UK want to be known for?

The law wants young migrants to have spend half their lives or 20 years in the UK, & then an additional 3 years(residency) before accessing SFE, and thus home fee status.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take specific action.

We understand that you would like young migrants to have access to university but we aren't sure what change you would like to make.

You could start a new petition setting out clearly what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do to make university accessible to young migrants.
