What the petition asks

I feel there should be extended leave for mothers maternity i.e paid leave from when the baby is born and then maternity leave to start once the baby is medically discharged and also for fathers to I.e 2 weeks off for baby being born and also 2 weeks from when they are medically discharged.

My wife had a emergency c section on the 16th September to our 28 week old baby son called Finley. We have been in hospital for over 8 weeks and hopefully be home by the end of November. I as a parent have no parental leave for when my baby comes home and my wife has already lost 2 months of her maternity leave and our baby isn’t out of hospital yet.
