Petition · past parliament

‘Palm oil’ to be clearly labelled on products containing it, to help consumers.

Closed 186 signatures

What the petition asks

There are many names for palm oil that consumers won’t recognise. It is not as clear as looking at the ingredients list on a product and searching for palm oil. Some ingredients may be from palm oil but it will not be labelled, e.g. ‘vegetable oil’ in a product may or may not be from palm oil.
Some names for ingredients that could or do contain palm oil:
INGREDIENTS: Vegetable Oil, Vegetable Fat, Palm Kernel, Palm Kernel Oil, Palm Fruit Oil, Palmate, Palmitate, Palmolein, Glyceryl, Stearate, Stearic Acid, Elaeis Guineensis, Palmitic Acid, Palm Stearine, Palmitoyl Oxostearamide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Kernelate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Lauryl Lactylate/Sulphate, Hyrated Palm Glycerides, Etyl Palmitate, Octyl Palmitate, Palmityl Alcohol

CONTAINS: Palm oil
