EU nationals paying taxes here, to have a vote in all future GEs and referenda.

What the petition asks

There should be no taxation without representation. EU nationals legally resident here for 5 years and paying UK taxes should have a vote in all future GEs and referenda. My Swedish wife, here for 36 years, having brought up 3 children here, working and paying taxes here, still cannot vote in GEs.
Some 3 million plus EU nationals living and working and paying taxes here in the UK, were denied a voice in the 2016 EU referendum that directly affected them, their families, and their futures here. I believe THAT position is an affront to democracy and makes a mockery of any notion of basic fairness.

It is an intolerable stain on the reputation of the UK for decency and fairness that this situation exists in 2018.. It must be rectified, and as soon as possible.
