Deploy carbon capture and storage technology at scale across the UK by 2021.

What the petition asks
Runaway climate change will happen unless we dramatically cut emissions within a decade. Carbon capture (CCUS) technology removes up to 90% of CO2 from air, but the UK government intends to deploy it at scale only in the 2030s. We demand that the government rolls out CCUS nationwide by 2021.
We propose that the government:
- brings forward nationwide CCUS deployment to 2021;
- provides more funding for CCUS optimisation and supports emissions-cutting CCUS plants regardless of profit;
- oversees global transfers of CCUS technology and compels overseas states to deploy CCUS.
