Enforce a nationwide ban on plastic bags.

What the petition asks

Many environmental issues are caused by plastics, we cannot continue the way we are going without making changes. The UK can do the same, bag tax simply does not have a big enough effect.
Kenya has seen successes from their plastic bag ban in August 2017, already 100 million less plastic bags have been used. Another noticeable example of where this has been proven to work is in Rwanda. Rwanda banned bags in 2008 and since then, it's capital has been named the "cleanest on the planet"

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Ban plastic carrier bags completely, this is to include ALL retailers.
