A holder of a full UK driving licence can pay to remove minor penalty points

Closed 145 signatures

What the petition asks

To submit a change in the law where a holder of a full uk driving licence can pay £100.00 per penalty point to remove minor diving penalty points from his/her licence after a period of 6 months from the offence with the proceeds going back in to road safety, education or transportation links.
The Uk driving licence has not been reviewed since 1988 and since this time technology has moved on as well as the public travelling more and for longer distances which means a greater risk of accumulating points of a shorter period of time which will in turn creates financial hardship and damage to the economy for many who rely on motor vehicles in the UK, The money from this change can be used to be spent on road safety and education or better transportation links.
