What the petition asks
In this day and age what company can receive £5 billion pounds and have to do nothing to earn it. I acknowledge that the BBC is an institution but no one wants to live in one.
I cannot think of one company who has free access to funding without a plan to raise funding.

There should be a transition period to enable the BBC to enable itself to raise funds as do all other tv channels to create income.
