What the petition asks

Building works to adapt my home left my home devestasted, unadapted and with 41500 released to the builder, when it went wrong, I went to trading standards and sought advice, I was told it was unlikely I would get any of the money back as they can just fold how in 2018 is this possible?

City of York Council disabled facilities grant £30000 a loan of £9000 £2500 savings given legal advice. This is a real story, I dont want this to happen to anyone else I have contacted my local MP and the BBC the law needs to change. Sadly this is not an isolated case and it is happening to many innocent people and there is little repurcussion to these unscrupulous traders.
