Isolating and excluding children can have a very negative effect on their emotional well being and mental health.
Often ,the majority of these children need some help and guidance but are instead, receiving punishments.
1 in every 2 children excluded has a recognised mental health issue which is often made worse by the isolation they endure.
Department of education national statistics:
Estimated 5740 permanent exclusions in 2009/10
By 2016/17 this rose to 7720.
Estimated 40 permanent exclusions per day.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.
The use of isolation rooms and the conditions applied to them are a matter for the individual school. You could raise this issue with your school's governing body.
You can find advice for Headteachers on the use of isolation rooms here:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/488034/Behaviour_and_Discipline_in_Schools_-_A_guide_for_headteachers_and_School_Staff.pdf
You could start a new petition calling for the UK Government to change the advice given to Headteachers if that is something you would like to see happen.
