Ensure there are never any state subsidies for halal and kosher certified items
Rejected

What the petition asks
There are campaigns for clear labelling. However, on getting this they may ask for state subsidies we want this banned.
It is strictly forbidden for some Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians to consume any halal or kosher certified product or religiously slaughtered meat. If we get labelling and they get subsidies Halal and Kosher may enter the food chain by stealth. We don't want that.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We can't accept your petition because we are not sure what you would like to happen.
State subsidies for food production are generally paid to farmers, rather than later in the supply chain.
We therefore aren't sure how a ban would work.
You already have a petition open asking for clear labelling to ensure such food is clearly marked so we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
